🌟 Setting Financial Goals

Are you trying to save more money in 2024? To find out how to do that, I’m talking with the founder of financial Wellness strategies Bobby Rebel. Everyone wants to be better with money in the new year and, of course, saving money is top of the list for so many people. The most important thing is to really get into the weeds with what it will take to get there. So, first and foremost, figure out how much more money you want to save and for what purpose. Break it down into specific steps and figure out ways to hold yourself accountable.

🌟 Setting Tangible Goals

Specifically, how much more money do you want to save and for what purpose? Is it saving to put into an investment account, for a down payment on a house, or for the vacation of your dreams? Once you have a tangible goal, break it down into small, achievable steps. For example, saving $52 this year is equivalent to saving a dollar a week. How are you going to achieve that?

Goals Action
Save $1 a week Earn a dollar more
Spend a dollar less
Consistently the same thing

🌟 Holding Yourself Accountable

Find an accountability partner, someone willing to check in on your progress. Set up a system based on whether you’re a digital or an analog person. Put reminders in your calendar or post visual reminders to keep yourself on track. 🗓️

🌟 Lifestyle Benefits

If you work for a company with benefits, check in regularly to know what benefits are available. This can include new lifestyle benefits that may crop up unexpectedly. Lifestyle benefits might include a free Apple Fitness subscription or subsidized health insurance. Get to know what your employer is offering and use everything relevant.

🌟 Smart Shopping Tips

Be intentional when you shop. Treat yourself from time to time, but be smart about it. Know the categories on your credit card where you get cash back and use plugins to maximize savings. You can buy the same product at a different store with a cash back offer and use the cash back to buy yourself something else fun. Shop smart to save money.
